           The senate has recently passed the 1.9 trillion dollar stimulus package. This vote was strictly among party lines just barely passing. This plan includes $1400 checks to people making under $75,000 a year, giving $300 weekly checks to unemployed people, along with spending more money on vaccines and other health related necessities. With this being said, the American Rescue Plan is likely to be approved and then distributed to millions of Americans.

          Also, another crucial vote held last week was regarding the minimum wage. This bill was denied after 8 Democrats voted against it. Republicans argue that the bill will erase jobs in an already weakened economy while a majority of Democrats argue that raising the minimum wage will lift millions of already struggling Americans out-of poverty. This debate has lasted for years in Washington and will likely not come to a halt, anytime soon.
